July 3
If gardening chores such as pulling weeds, pushing wheelbarrows, digging holes or moving heavy pots is becoming more of a challenge due to age-related or time-related issues, Sydney Eddison will provide some practical hints for simplifying and scaling back while retaining the activities that gardeners love most. For information about her book, "Gardening for a Lifetime," go to www.timberpress.com or www.gardenlife.com to link to Amazon. Call John, Sharon, Bryan or Sydney with your garden questions at 1-866-606-8255 (TALK).
July 4
Happy 4th of July! We have some great ideas to help celebrate the 4th as well as the entire summer. Melissa's World Variety Produce is the largest distributor of over 1,000 specialty fruits and vegetables and one of the leading distributors of organic produce. Melissa's produce guru Bob Schueller will help us with our holiday grocery lists so that we can pick out the most exciting and tastiest fruits and vegetables available this time of year. And he will share his lemonade recipe from "Melissa's Everyday Cooking with Organic Produce." Bob Reidmuller from Oasis Water Efficient Gardens will talk about adding pink butterflies to our gardens, the 'Pink Butterfly' Kalanchoe. The second hour, Eugene Rosow will give us "the dirt" about "Dirt, the Movie" - a humorous, but extensive look into the history and current state of the living, organic matter beneath our feet. Even our founding fathers, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson talked "dirt!" And garden expert Lance Walheim will explain about the life cycle and controls of Japanese beetles. Call John, Sharon, Bryan or our four guests with your garden questions at 1-866-606-8255 (TALK).
July 9 and July 10
John, Bryan and Sharon will be on vacation for this weekend, but you can hear us on "The Best of GardenLife" and will return live July 16-17.
