How to Build a String Trellis Frame

String Trellis 1The tasty crunch of pole beans in the summer and snow or sugar snaps peas in the cooler months is the culinary reward for building this reusable string trellis frame. With a bit of effort and time, a bounty of peas, beans or other climbers await that are easy to spot and to harvest. At the end of the season, just cut off the string and remnants of the spent vine, roll it up and dispose in the compost pile. Our trellis is 10 years old and still works beautifully for my warm and cool-season “stringed” vegetables.
