TENACIOUS - Floribunda Rose

The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST), is a registered charity that owns and operates Lord Nelson and Tenacious, the only two tall ships in the world designed and built to enable people of all physical abilities to sail side-by-side as equals. The ships have been specially designed and built to achieve this goal. They are an example of what can be done to enable people with very different levels of physical ability to participate fully. The ships are also a reminder of how important, yet simple design changes, can be to making an environment inclusive. The Tenacious has flat wide decks, raised markers on hand rails, lifts between decks and gangways that are wide enough for a wheelchair: all considerations that enable people to get around unaided. div>

The floribunda rose named after the ship is another outstanding achievement from Sam McGredy IV of New Zealand. Introduced in 2002, 'Tenacious' is a brightly-striped, cherry red and yellow variety that has a noticeable scent. As the blooms mature they change to blush pink and lemon. The form of the plant is also desireable with bright green foliage on dense bushy growth.
