One of our most unique and beautiful large, striped tomatoes with incredible flavor. Copia has distinctive fine-lined stripes of glowing gold and candy-red. Inside the flavorful flesh is a mix of red and yellow that swirls together in various combinations. The flavor is highly sought after by wine country chefs and is described as excellent, clean, sweet and juicy. The plant, a stabilized cross between Green Zebra and Marvel Stripe, produces large beefsteak-style fruit that average 12-16 oz.

 

It was named in honor of COPIA, the American Center for Food, Wine and the Arts, of Napa, CA. Famed chef, Julia Child, lent her support to the venture which featured a restaurant named Julia's Kitchen. Unfortunately, the center closed it's doors in 2008, but this wonderful tomato survives as a reminder of the cultural center.
